Psalm 59

Verses 16-17...
    But I will sing of Your strength;
        I will sing aloud of Your steadfast love in the morning.
    For You have been to me a fortress
        and a refuge in the day of my distress.
    O my Strength, I will sing praises to you,
        for You, O God, are my fortress,
        the God who shows me steadfast love.

O Lord,
These words echo strongly in my heart. You are my strength, for I am weak. I sing to You today, because You have given me a song to sing - that of Your all-sufficiency:

I run to Christ when chased by fear
And find a refuge sure.
“Believe in me,” His voice I hear;
His words and wounds secure.
I run to Christ when worn by life
And find my soul refreshed.
“Come unto Me,” He calls through strife;
Fatigue gives way to rest.

Thank You, Father, for teaching me to depend upon You alone. Thank You for bringing rest to my heart, despite my deep longings.
