Your pursuits

My dear one,

So, what are your pursuits?

Sitting in prayer meeting this evening, I was encouraged to think that perhaps you are praying with your church somewhere tonight as well. I wonder if you are involved in some active role of ministry. Even if you’re not specifically a pastor, elder, or deacon, I'm sure you are a man devoted to Christ and I would never want you to place me above Him.

As a godly servant of Christ, I know that you have a good reputation, even if people in darkness attempt to slander you. I know that you guard your heart and will be faithful to your marriage vows. I know that you will be my spiritual leader and be diligent in training your children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. I'm sure you have a good work ethic and a godly perspective of material possessions. You are mature in your attitudes, conversations, and lifestyle, and you are vigilant regarding things that fight for mastery over you. You are perceptive to the needs of others, and it warms my heart to see how you reach out to assist them in areas in which you are capable. Your steady spiritual growth is a testament to God's unrelenting grace. You are a positive influence on those around you. Your speech is seasoned with grace, and you speak the truth in love.

I have a friend who doesn't truly believe that men like you exist. All the men she knows are arrogant and selfish. I have tried to explain to her a godly men treasures his family and is not afraid to help out in the home. When you meet me, I can't wait to tell her about you!

I tremble at at the ideals of the "Proverbs 31 woman," but I strive to be your more-precious-than-rubies girl. We are both on a long journey of sanctification, my dear one! But I will continue to pray for you. Please do the same for me.

I can't wait to learn of your abilities, strengths, talents, hobbies, and pursuits. I want to share them with you. I want to enjoy what you enjoy.

But lastly, on this letter's theme of "pursuits," I long for the day when you pursue ME! I will not be a flirt and chase you down. Please come and talk to me. I hope I can find a way to let you know that I am interested, even though I may seem reserved around you until I get to know you. Pursue me, woo me, make me know what it is to be desired...

Waiting,
Me
